Many adolescents have unmet contraceptive needs, and the benefits of modern contraceptives for adolescents have been documented. Despite evidence on the advantages of modern contraceptives, adolescents lack access to contraceptives in their communities. In this pilot study, the data from a contraception decision-making session with 10th- to 12th-grade (ages 15-18 years) adolescents were used to answer three questions: what adolescents want to know, what adolescents want to discuss, and what information they want to receive during the session. The results indicated that adolescents want to know about healthy relationships, pregnancy prevention, and reliable contraception. They were most interested in discussing the effects of oral contraceptives on the liver and bone health and the impact of oral contraceptives on their future fertility. Adolescents want to hear about the effects of different contraceptives on their future fertility and about the types of contraception that women use to prevent pregnancy.Modeling fractional and patient-specific parameters for the in vivo quantification of the intrinsic clearance of the hepatobiliary transporter BSEP.
The human multidrug resistance-associated protein BSEP mediates the efflux of organic anions from hepatocytes into bile. Expression of BSEP is regulated by nuclear receptors (such as constitutive androstane receptor and farnesoid X receptor) and by changes in the balance of cholesterol and bile acids. Pharmacological and toxicological evidence in mice and rats indicate that BSEP is involved in the pharmacokinetics of bile acids and that an increase in the expression of the transporter affects the blood concentrations of several endogenous and exogenous compounds. In this study, we describe a physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model that describes the hepatobiliary transport of bile acids and drugs by BSEP. The model includes both patient-specific and fractional parameters. It is a significantly improved version of the earlier published model for the in vivo transport by BSEP that was developed and validated for the pharmacokinetics of cefepime. In the modeling framework, patient-specific parameters are represented by the estimated BSEP expression level in the liver and the estimated fractional absorption of bile acids and drugs in the intestine. Bile acid synthesis, conjugation, and enterohepatic cycling are taken into account by incorporation of individualized model parameters. Experimental data are compared to simulations 01e38acffe

North Park is a community area that includes the stretch of West Ridge Avenue between Belmont Avenue and Chicago Avenue in the North Center community area of Chicago, Illinois.
History
Prior to the Chicago Housing Authority's construction of a number of public housing projects along North Ridge Avenue, North Park was predominantly composed of single-family homes. The Belmont-Chicago streetcar line terminated on Belmont at State Street, and the present-day Belmont Greenhouse and the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools both stand on the original right of way for the street. From 1880 to 1885, there was a lumber yard and the North Park Woollen Company had its factory on the street, though there is no evidence that it was located in North Park.
The small and triangular shaped park at West Ridge and North Kolin Avenue was built in 1892, and features a 0.15 acre lot for a public garden. The memorial arch, featuring a statue of an unidentified woman, was dedicated on June 15, 1899. The park was named for the nearby college of the University of Chicago. The site was formerly known as Clark Street Park, and was part of a larger park established in the 1870s on the site of the old Huron Road.
The boundaries of the community area were originally defined by North Boulevard, Chicago Avenue, Belmont Avenue and Ridge Avenue, but are now defined by Addison, Ridge, South Kolin and North Kolin Avenues.
Education
As of 2015, the Chicago Public Schools operates the community areas' public schools.

Kaleidoscope, which celebrates its fourth anniversary this year, is a step away from the “fine dining” restaurants that cater to the city’s elite and instead serves up plates of meze and tapas, or small plates as the trendy culture calls them.
